Economical process mode of drying facility
The majority of existing sugar mills are equipped with high-temperature cylinder dryers, where blend of fuel and air combustion products is used as a drying agent. Operation efficiency of such facility is defined not only by heat (or equivalent fuel) consumption for 1 kg of esteamated moisture, but also by losses of exhausted cossettes in drying facility. Losses of exhausted cossettes arise because of combustion of smaller particles at high temperature and their carry-over during discharge of spent gases to the atmosphere.

For fuel saving, it is necessary to achieve minimum heat losses with discharges to the atmosphere. To achieve this, it is necessary, on the one hand, to maintain minimum possible temperature of off-gases, on the other hand, to achieve maximum possible humidity of these gases. These tasks contradict to each other and are even more complicated by those limitations (by temperature and gas velocity), required for minimization of losses of exhausted cossettes.

The situation becomes more complicate if take into account that, in practice, it is necessary to work with varying initial parameters (humidity and amount of squeezed pulp, air humidity, etc.). It is also necessary to take into account process characteristics and design features of the equipment of certain drying facility.

It is evident that optimal and economical operation mode of pulp dryer is impossible without applying algorithm of its control, taking into account set of all affecting factors. In its turn, such an algorithm could be worked out only basing on mathematical model of dryer operation and appropriate charts, obtained according to the results of facility testing, adjusting its process characteristics depending on change in initial parameters.

"Teplocom" Ltd. is ready to carry out all required measures for optimization of pulp dryer operation.
